| Cannabinoids - A New Class of Analgesics | |||
| No new class of analgesics has been developed for over 50 years. All of the new, improved medications work on already understood mechanisms. Cannabinoids represent a potential breakthrough in this field with much anticipated new scientific information available. Unique legal and regulatory issues must be addressed before cannabis–derived medicines can be made available for prescription. This session will explore developments in understanding cannabinoid receptors, discuss new drugs in the pipeline, and consider the impact of formulation, composition, and dosage issues on the risk/benefit balance. | |||
