Opioids: Good or Bad?
The question persists as to whether opioids are a useful and safe tool within the Pain Medicine armamentarium or whether we have created significant medical problems through their extensive use for treating chronic pain. Questions about the best route of administration, the most appropriate dosages, and potentially harmful effects versus clinical benefits contribute to the controversy. This 90-minute debate will bring together two leading authorities on opioids who will present the evidence-based data about these issues in a pro/con format and provide an opportunity for audience interaction.
