Pain Medicine and Law Enforcement: Achieving a Team Approach
The purpose of this proposal is to establish a preeminent set of speakers to cover the various aspects of the current legislative and regulatory environment. The program will also provide members of the Academy with presentations from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators and the Pain and Policy Studies Group from the University of Wisconsin. Additionally we will have an official from the DEA presenting as a plenary speaker for the luncheon meeting. We have included below a full day program (Pre-Conference Workshop). However please note that the program can be condensed into a half-day program depending on time restrictions. The Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee feels as though a program such as this would be extremely advantageous and beneficial to the membership. It will allow new insight and inside knowledge of the DEA, Law Enforcement Agencies, and others that we as physicians are not aware of.
