| (405) Diagnosing Neuropathic Pain | |||
| Neuropathic pain (NP) is one of the most frequently encountered conditions, but there is a shortage of guidelines on how to use validated surveys and how to perform a standardized bedside clinical exam to diagnose it. We will present new data from the Neuropathic Pain Research Consortium (NPRC), which is a multi-institution group of academic investigators, illustrating a newly developed, validated history and exam procedure for diagnosing NP. This is a follow up to last year’s symposium from NPRC, during which we introduced these concepts. A standardized, valid, and easily administered diagnostic procedure for NP is important to the clinician and crucial to the scientific rigor of clinical trials. | |||
