(303) Complementary and Alternative Medicine Pain Therapies
Complementary and alternative medicine is an increasingly used treatment modality for patients with chronic pain, and advice for this treatment is being sought from pain physicians. What is the evidence that these treatments show efficacy? This course will target the use of fish oil and alpha omega fatty acids, glucosamine alone and in combination with other nutriceuticals, and herbal and dietary supplements for the treatment of pain. Each speaker will explore current evidence and address the connection of where these treatments fit with current knowledge of pain mechanisms.
